Rilla Schneider graduated from McGill Medical School prior to completing her paediatric residency at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. She then completed her paediatric gastroenterology clinical and research fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children, with a clinical and research focus in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. She then returned to Montreal and the Montreal Children’s Hospital, where she now works as a paediatric gastroenterologist.

She has a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research from the Institute of Health Policy and Management at the University of Toronto. She continues to pursue clinical IBD research at the Montreal Children's Hospital through the Canadian Children Inflammatory Bowel Disease Network. She also sits on multiple Canadian Children Inflammatory Bowel Disease Network committees including the Clinical Care and Research Committee and the Training and Mentorship Committee.
