Overview

A review of the normal physiological changes of perimenopause and menopause, an introduction to latest clinical guidelines for use of hormone therapy, an understanding of risks, benefits and new alternatives to estrogen/progestin treatment for vasomotor symptoms and genitourinary syndrome of menopause.

Objectives

1. Indications for hormone therapy

2. Latest guidelines for use of hormone therapy

3. Understanding the distinction between local estrogen therapy for genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and hormone therapy for vasomotor symptoms (VMS)

4. New alternatives to estrogen/progestin therapy
