Adolescents often present with menstrual issues similar to those of adult women. However, adolescent physiology is sufficiently different that it modifies the differential diagnosis, and as a result the investigations and treatment of the presenting problems.
In this workshop we are going to review some common referrals to the adolescent gynecology team with the goal of:
1)Developing strategies to obtain a useful history from an adolescent.
2)Reviewing how differences in physiology and disease prevalence in adolescents vs adults change our workups and management.
3)Managing common menstrual bleeding problems in adolescents.
